2020-21 Statewide Salmon

  • Due to low return rates for crew member applications, ADF&G staff are exploring an alternative methodology for calculating crew payments. Without this adjustment, crew members would receive significantly higher payments than permit holders, which does not align with typical crew contracts or settlements. Once NOAA approves the amended spend plan, PSMFC will be able to issue relief to statewide salmon crew members.
    • This change will affect crew members who participated in the 2020 Norton Sound set gillnet fishery and the 2020-21 Yukon and Kuskokwim set gillnet fisheries.

  • Relief for the 2020 Chignik seine crew will regrettably be delayed as ADF&G and PSMFC seek amendment approval to clarify an error in the approved spend plan regarding the harvester fund split between permit holders and crew members.

  • Relief for 2020 Southeast Alaska crew members (including troll, seine, and gillnet) will be issued in the coming weeks.

  • Subsistence Household relief for 2020-21 Yukon-Kuskokwim and 2020 Norton Sound is expected in early 2025. Due to the high volume of applications and necessary amendments, the process is taking longer than originally anticipated. We appreciate your patience.
