PERMIT HOLDERS

Application notices, which contain unique IDs required to apply for relief, were mailed to qualifying K09Z and K09ZE permit holders on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

Please wait until at least Monday, March 16, 2026 before reaching out to the Commission for a duplicate notice.

To qualify for relief:

  • Winter fishery participants must have made a Norton Sound red king crab commercial landing during the winter fishing season in any two of three years from 2017 to 2019.
  • Summer fishery participants must have made a Norton Sound red king crab landing during the summer fishing season in 2019 or in any two of three years from 2017 to 2019.
  • Applications will open at 12:00 pm AKST on 3/2/2026.
  • Applications will close at 12:00 pm AKDT on 6/1/2026.
  • Late applications will not be accepted. 

 

 

CREW MEMBERS

To qualify, crew members must meet the following criteria:

  • Vessel crew members must have held a commercial crew license or CFEC permit for any fishery in 2019. This information will be verified using the ADF&G licensing or CFEC permit databases.
  • Vessel crew members must provide information to show they participated as fishing crew during the 2019 summer season for a qualified K09Z or K09ZE permit holder, based on a signed affidavit from the permit holder or vessel owner.
  • Vessel crew members are not eligible if you also qualified as a K09Z or K09ZE permit holder using 2019 landings to qualify.

Direct payments to minors are not authorized under the terms of the federal grant; however, payment may be made to a parent or guardian residing in the same household on behalf of an eligible minor.

Vessel crew MUST submit, at the time of application, the following 2019 NSRKC Summer Vessel Crew Affidavit

  • Applications are scheduled to tentatively open at 12:00 pm AKST on 3/16/2026.
  • Applications are scheduled to tentatively close at 12:00 pm AKDT on 7/14/2026.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
