S01L Permit Holders

 

Permit holder (S01L) applications related to the 2021 Chignik salmon disaster opened at 12:00 pm AKDT on Monday, August 25, 2025.

 

Applications are expected to remain available until 12:00 pm AKST on November 24, 2025.
Late applications will not be accepted. 

 

Notifications containing unique IDS required to apply for relief were mailed to eligible S01L permit holders on Monday,  August 18, 2025. Please wait until at least Monday, September 8, 2025 before inquiring into the status of your notification if not immediately received. This should allow ample opportunity for the USPS to either deliver your notice or for it to be returned to sender as undeliverable. Notifications were mailed to the most recent address on file with the CFEC. 

 

Vessel Crew Members

 

Applications for vessel crew members related to the 2021 Chignik salmon disaster opened at 12:00 pm AKDT on Monday, August 25, 2025.

 

Applications are expected to remain available until 12:00 pm AKST on December 23, 2025.
Late applications will not be accepted. 

  • Vessel crew members who worked for a qualifying S01L permit holder in 2021 (verified by crew contract or affidavit) are eligible for an equal payment from the crew member pool of funding (~$792,000).

  • Vessel crew members must have also held a 2021 ADFG commercial crew member license or a 2021 CFEC fishery permit.
  • Finally, those eligible for relief as a S01L permit holder are NOT eligible to apply as a crew member.
