Updated 08:30 AM (PDT) on 5/21/2025
Due to a spend plan amendment request submitted by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game (ADF&G) to clarify inconsistencies related to captain and crew member qualifications, e.g. 1.) two of four years (2016-2019) VS 2.) three of five years (2015-2019) PSMFC is required to resubmit this spend plan to federal agencies for review. Due to this necessary submission, we are uncertain when applications will be made available related to 2020 GOA Pacific cod Captains and Crew Members.

For Vessel Captains Only: Submission of employment verification is NOT required.
Eligibility for vessel captains was determined through ADF&G fish tickets for Pacific cod landings on qualified vessels in 2020 or in at last two of four years, 2016-2019.
Application notices, containing 8-digit unique IDs (required to apply for relief) will be mailed to eligible Pacific cod vessel captains the week of TBD. Please wait until at least TBD before inquiring into the status of your notice if not received immediately. This should provide ample time for the US Postal Service to either deliver your notice or to return it to sender.
Again, vessel captains will NOT be permitted to apply without having this notice and unique ID in hand.
