This document outlines the framework for administering the relief program, created by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game (ADF&G) and approved by NOAA Fisheries and other federal agencies, including the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) is administering the program on NOAA Fisheries’ behalf. For questions about eligibility criteria or payment calculations, contact ADF&G.

Vessel Captains & Crew Members Only
Applications for captains and crew members opened at 12:00 PM AKDT on Monday, August 4th, 2025 and closed at 11:59 PM AKST on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025. We are not accepting late applications.
At this time, applications are being reviewed and processed. We expect relief to be disbursed in late January or early February, 2026.
PSMFC staff will only contact you in the event there is an issue with your application. Those who successfully submitted applications would have received a confirmation from Formsite upon submission. As the application portal read then, please check both your inbox and spam folders as the Commission has no means to control where these messages are directed.

Vessel Owners, Permit Holders, Processors, & Tenders Only
Applications for the 2020 GOA Pacific cod disaster were open from 3/13/2025 through 6/13/2025. Late applications are not being accepted.
Relief checks for vessel owners, permit holders, processors, and tenders were mailed on 8/15/2025. If you applied, but have no received payments, please write to AKFishDisaster@psmfc.org
